The Babolat Pure Drive Roddick Tennis Racquet is part of Babolat's new Andy Roddick signature line designed around the actual weight of Andy Roddick's racquet. It offers more power and stability due to its increased stiffness and added weight compared to the standard Pure Drive racquets. The response off the stringbed is more predictable and generates more spin due to the added swingweight and offers a more solid feel at impact without sacrificing maneuverability. The Pure Drive Roddick series racquets include Babolat's Cortex System and Woofer Technologies. The Pure Drive Roddick is also offered in an extended version.
Best Suited For: All around players with sound strokes seeking a racquet with professional specs and good blend of power, control, spin and comfort. Recommended for 4.0+ level players.
Cortex System: An active vibration filter customized to player level needs and acts as an interface between the handle and frame. The two parts of the racquet are actively linked by the C.D.S (Cortex Damping System) which filters and dampens vibrations interfering with feel, to enhance the feel of the ball. It is the first technology customized to filter the different types of vibrations. High frequency vibrations which interfere with feel are filtered out and only the vibrations providing feel (low frequency vibrations) are maintained.
Woofer Technology: A patented innovation by Babolat, Woofer is the first technology which makes the frame and the strings interact when striking the ball. This technology adds 25% more contact time between the ball and strings, which in turn generates more power, more control and spin, a more comfortable feel and a larger sweetspot area.
